What's it about!
Arun (Siddharth) is a college student in an Engineering college. He meets Parvathi (Amala Paul) on campus and falls in love with her immediately. Pravathi also starts loving him by the end of a semester. But like all lovers, they soon end up quarrelling over petty issues, confused about what the other one really wants. On the other hand, Parvathi has her own problems to deal with - her parents on the verge of divorce.

Analysis
What women want? That is a perennial problem for any guy. In his maiden production, Love Failure, Siddharth tries to seek the answer constantly as he can't decipher girlfriend's mood swings. The film is urbane and youthful. A romantic drama told in refreshing manner.
On the surface, the story of Love Failure is so simple and predictable but the way it is narrated and packaged in youthful, trendy manner makes film different and interesting.

Like in Hollywood auteur Woody Allen films, Siddharth narrates the movie in first person and speaks directly to the audiences. The writing - both the screenplay and dialogues - is pretty good.

It mainly focuses on sweet nothings of love, predicaments of young lovers, and ego issues. Even though the film has no strong conflict point, the young director creates situations that most of the youth can easily relate to.

On the down side, the film is a bit slow in the second half and comes to climax sluggishly. Also, in some scenes, the arguments have seemed more or less straight from the book, Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus.

Analysis

Siddhu brings a real sweetness to his character of a young, engineering student confused about love. He looks perfect for an Engineering student. Amala Paulis apt for her role and her performance is equally good (Soumya has dubbed her voice). New comers have played in most of the other characters and the guy who played the role of Shiva brings laughter. Sureshas Amala Paul's father and Surekha Vani have played perfectly well.

For the first time, Taman, who is known for loud songs, scores soothing music and enhances the mood of the movie through his background score.Nirav Sha's visuals are pleasant to the eyes. Dialogues are cool and realistic.

New director Balaji Mohan seems a promising talent; he has shown so much creativity in narrating the story.

Bottom-line
Love Failure is youthful romantic drama told in refreshing manner. A cool flick with mature handling. Simple and endearing movie.
Urban youngsters might easily connect with this movie.
